Proposal for National Archives’ building
A site visit at Union Vale was organised yesterday with officers from the Seychelles National Institute for Culture, Heritage and the Arts, SIA’s architect working on this project, Gabby Surman, as well as Press members, to go over the final draft of the layout plan for the National Archives building.
This visit offered a firsthand look at the site of the new facility and an opportunity to finalise plans for the project. It also provided an overview of the progress made to date and gave insight into the design and objectives of the new National Archives.
This new National Archives is a significant step towards safeguarding Seychelles’ historical documents and records. Once completed, the facility will serve as a state-of-the-art repository for the country’s most valuable archival materials, contributing to greater access to historical data, academic research, and cultural preservation.
