All about the Grandmas Savoir Faire – Full day.

The traditional knowledge holders demonstrate and teach how to make traditional crafts, like sewing, Kapatya, coconut baskets, coconut hats, ragged dolls etc.. Learn to prepare traditional food on location with all its flavour and savour.

The full day also includes a sumptuous Creole buffet lunch, traditional live band and dancing.

This event has become very popular especially with cruise ship clients and incentive groups.

    Welcome drinks is served with traditional snacks

    Coco Zerm, coconut, bread fruit chips, banana chips etc.

    Tour will begin with a guided visit of the main area of the plantation house ”Gran Kaz”,

    The plantation house built in the 1870’s, exhibiting the history of past owners through old photos, furniture’s and other historical pieces.

  3. 0930hrs 0930hrs

    Next stop is to visit the tortoises, and other animals like, local chicken, local Rooster etc. take this opportunity to feed them and take photos.

  4. 1000hrs 1000hrs

    Explanations of medicinal plants and endemic plants of Seychelles found around the property

  5. 1015hrs 1015hrs

    Performance of coconut de husking and grating with explanations of copra and coconut oil making.

    Next highlight the group will be divided in two

  7. 1130hrs 1130hrs

    Group 1 – At the traditional Kitchen, through explanations guests can participate and watch the authentic way of grilling fish and other local dish and accompaniments.

    Group 2 – At Lakaz ROZA learn how to make coconut leaf basket Kapatya, coconut leaf hat, local broom, traditional rag doll and crochet coaster and place mats. (clients can keep their crafts work as souvenirs)

    Group 1 – Proceed to Lakaz ROZA for craft making

    Group 2 – Proceed to the traditional kitchen.

    Food tasting and a creole lunch will be served accompanied with locally made drinks.

    Clients will participate in playing a traditional instrument Tanbour Moutya

    Learn how to dance the traditional <q>Sega and Moutya</q> and participate in a dance show.

  12. 1600hrs 1600hrs

    Lastly before heading back to the ship/hotel, clients will be free to do some shopping at the craft village.
