All about the Grandma’s Savoir Faire – Half day.

The traditional knowledge holders demonstrate and teach how to make traditional crafts, like sewing, Kapatya, coconut baskets, coconut hats, ragged dolls etc.. Learn to prepare traditional food on location with all it’s flavour and savour. This event has become very popular especially with cruise ship clients and incentive groups.

  • Management is not liable for any errorneous bookings.
  • Full charges will be applicable for any cancellation by client 24 hours before start of activity. Any other cancellation will incur a fee of 10%.
  • In case of cancellation by organisor the client will be notified the day before the start of the activity and a full refund will be effected.

  1. 09:30hrs

    Welcome drinks is served with traditional snacks

    “Coco Zerm”, coconut, bread fruit chips, banana chips etc.

    Next highlight the group will be divided in two:

  2. 10:30hrs

    Group 1: At the traditional Kitchen, through explanations guests can participate and watch the authentic way of grilling fish and other local dish and accompaniments.

    Group 2: At “Lakaz ROZA” learn how to make coconut leaf basket “Kapatya”, coconut leaf hat, local broom, traditional rag doll and crochet coaster and place mats. (clients can keep their crafts work as souvenirs)

  3. 11:20hrs

    Group’s swop:

    Group 1 – Proceed to “Lakaz ROZA” for craft making

    Group 2 – Proceed to the traditional kitchen.

  4. 12:00hrs

    Food tasting and a creole lunch will be served accompanied with locally made drinks.

  5. 13:00hrs

    Lastly before heading back to the ship/hotel, clients will be free to do some shopping at the craft village.

  6. 13:30hrs

Le Domaine de Val de PrèsAu Cap

Le Domaine de Val de Près is a national monument and heritage site, situated at Au Cap, on the South side of Mahè Island. There you can find all that you need to know about the Seychelles’ culture and traditions ̶ from our Creole cuisine introducing and sharing of Seychellois culinary secrets, using fresh and flavourful ingredients. Crafts making with local produce, games and so much more. A visit to Le Domaine de Val de Près is a must when on the island.
